question on Check clear cart in Abandoned Cart journey

I need help related to an Abandoned cart journey we want to build.

We are using personalization and journey builder. If the customer has added items to the cart and hasn't made a purchase in 24 hours, we need to send an email to them related to the items.

This is achievable using Einstein recipe, event, user segment etc.

However, we need to send a follow-up email after the 1st email for the abandoned cart if items are still present in the cart. Now, how do we determine before the follow-up email if the user hasn't cleared the cart or done checkout? The latest cart items are reflected through the Einstein recipe in the email but should a follow-up email be triggered or not based on cart status, how can we achieve this?

In @Interaction Studio SFMC Personalization, you could create another triggered campaign that uses segment join on the Purchase / Empty cart and use it to push this information to a Data Extension (no need for Journey Builder addition). With that, you could use Exit Criteria or a Decision Split on your abandoned cart journey when a given user no longer needs abandoned communication.

Hi Saurabh,

Thank you for the response. This trigger works for 30 minutes after the cart items are added and in the same web session. However, my use case has the first email after 24 hours and then after one week.

Check out this help document by Salesforce, with this we can check if the user hasn't cleared the cart or done checkout.
